Tiger’s iChat AV and Jabber

From the page of new features in Mac OS X Server 10.4:

iChat Server. Host your own private and secure inside-the-firewall iChat server that uses your own namespace and works with both Tiger’s iChat AV and popular Jabber clients available on Windows, Linux and PDAs.

This is awesome! Finally I’ll be able to use iChat AV for Jabber!

  1. I sure hope that works out as well as it sounds…I’d love to dump Proteus. It is way slower than iChat.

    Well after digging around Tiger, I found some initial hope that iChat truely will support Jabber. If you look in the iChat.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj you’ll see a JabberRegister.nib resource file which contains a Jabber specific GUI layou…
