Torrent Client Actually Moving

Filed under bit torrent technical on Friday, 11 February 2005 at 14:49.

Temas managed to get boost compiled as a working relocatable framework for use with libtorrent on Mac OS X and he pulled together the basics of one of the core widgets (I’ll keep it a secret a while longer) I want for the torrent client interface, so it seems like he and I are finally on the road to creating an Objective-C++ Bit Torrent client for Mac OS X.

Even with our cool new widgets, the torrent client is using a single-digit percentage of Temas’s G4 during regular use. We’ll be able to pull of a cool, robust, and easy-to-use Bit Torrent client for Mac OS X that uses fewer resources than something written in Python or Java. Things are looking good.

I’ve set up a category in my blog for all bit torrent-related posts.

  3. That’s not exactly why I’m building a Bit Torrent client, and I would prefer that you refrain from posting such things here.
