iChat’s XHTML-IM fixed
Much to my surprise, it seems that in 10.4.2 iChat’s XHTML-IM support has been fixed to comply with the specification. Awesome. That gets rid of my largest complaint. Hopefully other clients which implemented support for iChat’s old hacky version can drop that and we can live in an XHTML-IM-compliant world.
As a reminder, I have an FAQ for using Jabber in iChat.
yepyep! I also noticed other little changes in Tiger/10.4.2 that I complained about. It’s nice that they actually listened!
BTW, in my company, we are having some IE problems or what not on some computers. We checked everything, and nobody knew what happened. If we force install the applications with the problems again, it still doesn’t work. It only works if Windows updates again — so it seems like some of the Windows updates crash applications! Esp. the nightly ones…so now everybody tends to not update until the big fixes.
Is there a way to configure IM or to use IM to message with an iChat user?
I’m sorry, I don’t understand what you’re asking. You can chat to an iChat user via AIM with any AIM client, via Jabber with any Jabber client, and via Bonjour/Rendezvous with Trillian Pro.
